Until just now, I had thought my now unusable Swatch 1 had looked great. Now, I look at the stockinette and I'm picking out places all over that show tension issues! From what I've read on other blogs, the course seems to have a way of doing this kind of thing to people! I'm not even sure about my seed stitch anymore because I can see light coming through. I can't decide if it's from tension or needle size, but if I scrap it, I may switch to size 7 needles instead of 8s!
I'll post my pictures anyway.
Swatch 1, Version 1. Incorrect.

Swatch 2, Version 1
Because I realized this one was wrong, I didn't block it at all.

Swatch 2, Version 2
It is not hard to see how Version 1 is better all over, except for being the wrong length on the ribbing!

Swatch 3, Version 1
I think the cast on and bid off are really nice. I'm just not sure it's dense enough.

I've found one blog from someone that has passed level 1 with significant praise, and I've been trying to look at her swatches to see how I'm doing on these 3. After much staring, I could be led to believe that my seed stitch is still passable, At least that leaves me with 1 completed swatch, which is where I thought I was two days ago too!
